Profersor Peter Rieber, MD is Chair of Immunology and Head of the Institute of Immunology at Technical University, Dresden, Germany since 1995. He recieved his MD and completed postdoctoral research from University of Tubingen. Professor Rieber’s reserach work include: Functional characterization of a new population of proinflammatory dendritic cells in human blood defined by the 6-Sulfo LacNac modification of PSGL-1; Modulation of the immune response by differentially activated dendritic cells; In vivo-targeting of tumor antigens to circulating dendritic cells by DC-specific monoclonal antibody constructs; Polyclonal in vivo-activation of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells against tumor cells by bispecific diabody constructs; Targeted gene transfer by viral vectors with antibody-modified envelope glycoprotein; and Identification and functional characterization of new tumor-associated antigens for immunotherapy of prostate cancer, breast cancer and glioblastoma multiforme.
