Dr. James L. GULLEY (2006)
Dr. Gulley (M.D., Ph.D., FACP) is a board certified
medical oncologist and Director of the Clinical Immunotherapy
Group at the National Cancer Institute. He is a clinical
investigator within the Medical Oncology Branch and
is especially interested immunotherapy for prostate
cancer.
He received his medical training at Loma Linda University
in their medical scientist training program where he
obtained a PhD with his work in tumor immunology as
well as an MD. He went to Emory University for a residency
in Internal Medicine and then to the National Cancer
Institute for a fellowship in Medical Oncology.
Since 1999 Dr. Gulley has been involved in designing
and running numerous clinical trials in prostate cancer
at the National Cancer Institute. He is the principal
investigator on 8 clinical trials and an associate investigator
on 22 other trials. He has received numerous awards
including a shared NCI Group Merit Award gFor major
contributions to the field of cancer immunotherapy.h
Over the past 5 years, he has authored over 50 original
articles, reviews and book chapters on immunotherapy
and cancer treatments, and has made numerous presentations
at national and international meetings.
